Monday

We got a late start this morning. After walking Toby and having some cereal, we hopped on our bikes and rode south on the Pinellas Trail down to Stevenson Creek.

It was hot and humid, but the temperature was only in the upper 80s with lots of cloud cover.

John dropped me off at Weaver Park where I did yoga and weights until noon. John headed to the doctor's office.

Late this afternoon, we rode our bikes to Walgreens to pick up prescriptions for us both. You know you're old when . . .

While we waited for our prescriptions to be filled, we rode down to the drawbridge to look at the water. Then we headed to Publix to get a sub for dinner and a few items.

Miles walked in July: 161.2 (5.2 per day)
Miles biked in July: 132.86 (4.3 per day)
Yoga and weights: 3 days per week

Sunday

We drove the golf cart down to Stirling Park and then walked south on the Pinellas Trail, all the way to downtown and then the marina.

We found a shaded bench on the water.

We looked out and relaxed, listening to the sounds of the water.

It was good for our souls.

We enjoyed this Tupac quote on the trail.

Toby, waiting for dinner

Our closet rendered on graph paper. I sent this to my cousin to ponder over.

Saturday

John and I rode our bikes to the causeway this morning after walking Toby in the neighborhood. Then we rode downtown and signed pro choice petitions and clean water petitions. From there, we headed to Stevenson Creek.

We checked out the creek. No manatees.

This morning on the causeway there wasn't much breeze, but the air was very clear.

We picked up a veggie pizza from Bambino's in the golf cart with Toby. Afterwards, we headed back to Stirling Park and walked the Pinellas Trail north across Curlew Creek into the northern section of Stirling Park.

John said it reminded him of Duke Forest.

I saw my cousin a few weeks ago in Albany, Ga. She runs a closet organizing business with her husband. I mentioned what a messed up closet we have in passing. She followed up with a text today, wanting to see pictures and offer solutions. She said she's a closet nut and can't help it. She's a very good organizer. So I sent her these pictures. The picture above is of the rounded living room wall, which messes up the closet on the other side of the curved wall.

This is the clipped corned in the bathroom on the opposite side of the curved wall. The clipped corner messes up the upper and lower racks in the closet because of the weird angle.

This is the inside of the closet on the curved portion of the wall. This side is only 12 inches deep. I think this side would be better suited to shelves and drawers, just not wire shelving. I don't like walking in and having the hangers in my face. About 4/5 of these hanging clothes need to be donated as we never wear them.

This side has double hanging shelves and it's much deeper, suitable for hanging items.

It will be interesting to see what my cousins comes up with.

Friday

We took Toby to Highlander Park in the golf cart before lunch for a walk.

Lake Saundra looked shaded on the way by.

Ibises at the lake.

We dropped Toby off and headed to Covered Bridge for a double burger.

John got fries. His burger was so huge he had to eat it with a knife and fork.

It's been a little less hot today, sunny and beautiful. We came home with full bellies and took a nap.

I rode my bike to the outdoor gym at Weaver Park this morning for yoga and exercise. John came down at the end of my workout and we crossed Alt. 19 and rode down Victoria Drive to the Dunedin marina.

There was a nice breeze and a few folks enjoying the view.

We watched the boats come and go.

We found just enough shade to keep cool in the breeze.

My workout this morning was good.

We took an afternoon golf cart ride to Highlander Park and then to Stirling Park.

Once more around the lake before sunset.

Thursday

Parents marching for equality to support their LGBT kids in NYC 1975. I was 15 years old, living in North Carolina, clueless and ashamed. New York City and San Francisco seemed a long way away.

We took Toby downtown to get him a scoop of doggie ice cream, maple bacon flavor. He started squealing as soon as we crossed the Cedar Creek bridge. He knew it was going to be his lucky day, but he thinks everyday is going to be his lucky day. The owner came around from behind the freezer and held Toby's  ice cream in a cup until he licked the last drop. She admired his nose, his eyes, his patch, his pink skin, his freckles, his ears, and everything else about him. Such gushing. We couldn't disagree, of course.

Skies were overcast and temperatures were cooler today. We had some thunderstorms to move through in the early evening.

Toby enjoyed his ride downtown.

And so did we.

"A soda costs $1.00 in a vending machine, $2.00 at the grocery store, & $3.00 at a theme park."

"Same soda, the only thing that changed the worth was the place. So next time you feel your worth is nothing, maybe you're at the wrong place."

Tuesday

Avocado picking season begins! I took our first two to our neighbors.

Lots of avocados!

There are 17 in the foreground of this picture alone.

We walked Toby early this morning, running into a friend with her dog. She turned and walked with us. Toby and her dog get along really well. They walk together and basically ignore one another. Toby reacts to good dog energy and bad dog energy. If the other dog is high strung or anxious, he will match them. Otherwise, he's calm and doing his own thing.

We took the car out to the causeway to walk. The temperature was in the low 80s, but there was great cloud cover the entire walk. The breeze was supposed to be 1-2 mph, but on the causeway it was more like 5 mph.

We stopped by Publix on the way home to pick up heavy things: milk, orange juice, etc.

The storm caused our cable line to sag from the electrical poles. I called Spectrum and they have scheduled a repair technician to come fix it tomorrow at noon. I talked to three different people and they were all so nice and helpful.

I'm glad it will be fixed before the mowers come on Friday. I'm afraid they would get close-lined.

We got a notice from Duke Energy that they would be coming to trim trees growing near the power lines. So, we'll be having some activity back here.

For dinner, we headed to Azteca Huarache for Taco Tuesday. This time, we both got Mexican style chicken tacos: cilantro and onions, with a slice of lime and cucumber.

Three tacos for $7, with free chips.
