Tuesday

We took Toby to Honeymoon Island after lunch. They are still working on opening up the park fully. There are porta potties, and some sections are blocked off.

Toby had a great time. The water was cold, but the air was 77 degrees.

John caught Toby in mid-air in this shot.

Running in circles

We all got a shower when we got home.

The capacitor for the living room arrived just when the manufacturer said it would. We investigated the fix and learned that the fan needed to be disconnected (unhung) to replace the capacitor. We're going to ask the electrician about it when they come to finish our project.

Another picture of our new bathroom. Countertops get installed Jan. 9th. Maybe the plumber will come before then to hook up our shower. The workers came yesterday to pick up the baseboards we removed from the back bedrooms. They also got the old toilet. So we have a little bit more room in the garage.

Last walk of the day, month, year.

Saturday

No workers since Christmas Eve, but we enjoyed a sunny and warm (78 degrees) Saturday. This morning, John ran and I rode my bike north on the Pinellas Trail to the water treatment plant, north of Walls Springs park. I then rode south to Weaver park to exercise.

Beautiful day.

We tested out our new tub this afternoon. Very relaxing. I almost fell asleep, but the sweat trickling down my face woke me up. The pop-up drain works great. While the water drained, I sat on the seat bathed and washed my hair. I used the hand wand to rinse off.  Just what I needed after my 22 mile bike ride, stretching, and weight lifting.

Before my bath, we rode our bikes to Publix to pick up dinner. We ordered one sub and asked them to put it in a box instead of in the sub. We brought it home and had a huge turkey salad with half a loaf of bread on the side. $11, a pretty good deal.

Friday

We lounged around this morning waiting for it to warm up.

Nice day for a walk on the causeway.

Wednesday

In Russia, they put their criminals in a glass box when they appear in the courtroom.

We call this our dry shower.

We all stayed in our PJs today.

Even though it was 62 degrees, it was overcast and felt cold.

Tuesday

The glass folks installed the shower walls and the mirror over the vanity this morning.

The glass enclosure is really tall.

The wall is mounted on the floor above the slope.

This view shows the other end of the slope, at the door. No curb at the door.

The other wall sits directly on the floor.

Mirror and shower, no fixtures, countertop or backsplash yet.

Shower and tub

View from the bedroom

View from the shower doorway, from the floor.

We chose this handle because it matches the tub filler and vanity faucets: flat on the front and rounded on the back.

Tub filler and sink faucet look like this.

The shower door handle looks like this on the front, which is like the tub filler and sink faucet.

The hinges are beautiful all by themselves. The door swings in and out--without hitting the vanity.

Just a few brackets.

Two brackets for the floor.

Only one tiny bracket at the top on the decorative tile. Other than that, just silicon.

There's plenty of room between the tub and shower to clean or open the window.

We didn't want it to look crowded.

The construction boss worked on the bidet outlet. He's letting it dry before adding the wall texture and the baseboard.

He installed the ceiling exhaust fan. He's coming back to fix the texture after the patch dries.

Late afternoon walk at Stirling park.

Evening pictures

Our designer said she notified the plumber that if he had time, he could install the shower fixtures so that we don't have to wait until after January 9th when the countertop gets installed to use our shower. He would still have to come back for the vanity faucets.
