Thursday (Bruce, Kim, and Pam)

We made it to Honeymoon Island for a morning walk on Friday with Pam, after Bruce and Kim left. We couldn't believe that there was a flamingo in one of the ponds off the beach. That's the first time we've seen a flamingo here. He was doing the shuffle stirring up things to eat.

The water was awesome. Pam thought it was cold, too.

We found a live sand dollar. John tossed it back out in the water before someone stepped on it or nabbed it for a souvenir.

We walked a couple of miles.

Kim and Bruce came all the way from Albany, Georgia to install our new closet.

The arrive after lunch and had it completed by 5:00. We took them to Frenchy's for dinner and walked around the neighborhood afterwards.

Nice sunset Wednesday night

Closet construction in progress.

Bruce set up in the front yard under the shade of the megnolia tree.

They made a gazillion trips in and out while Pam, John, and I watched British baking shows.

Tuesday and Wednesday mornings, we walked on the causeway.

We watched a fast-paced show called Unstable, starring Rob Lowe and his real life son playing a father and son. Very funny. Very fast. Toby warmed up to Pam quickly. A couple of times her excitement got him excited and he wanted to play with her. He's used to boring me and John.

Stirling Park walk

We rode to the marina and enjoyed the breeze.

We took Toby to Bark Place to get some ice cream so that he would sit still at the marina. It worked like a charm.

We showed Pam a picture of a rug we had seen at Home Goods that might work for our living room. She loved it.

But, when we got to Home Goods, it had been sold! We searched high and low on the internet, but we could only find it at twice the price. It was a nice wool rug from a brand that Pam knew. Oh, well. We'll keep looking.

We got fresh flowers for Bruce and Kim's room.

And for Pam's room.

Friday for lunch, we went to Wild Iris in downtown Dunedin. Pam and I got quiche and John got the chicken salad stuffed inside a honeydew melon.

It looks great. We are gradually moving things back in. We decided to leave the door off for now. It's so much easier to just walk in without having to open that stupid mirrored door.

John got this shot of a funny vanity plate.

Sunday

We took Toby to Stirling Park Sunday evening for a walk. The temperatures have been lower, making for easier walks.

Toby got a shower after this walk. He's been scratching a lot here lately. We're hoping the Dermabens will tame whatever is irritating him.

There were still some signs up after the hurricane. The streets on the west side of Alt. 19 always flood. The water comes up through the sewer drains.

John found the 5A channel marker about a half mile from where it's supposed to be. It was near the tidal bridge instead of out in the water off the southern end of Honeymoon Island.

Sunday morning, I cleaned up the beds in the front yard.

I bagged four bags of ferns and one can of leaves. I pruned the two palms, too.

The bird of paradise needs pruning several times a year. I power washed the front of the house on Saturday.

Sunday afternoon, we took Toby to the marina to people watch.

I got this great shot of seaweed and sludge. It looks like an animal print.

The new marina headquarters is taking shape. There are now walls and a roof. We're not sure if the old building will be raised or not. It's been there since the early 20th century.

This large boat went back and forth waiting for a slip to dock at Bon Appetite.

Toby is beginning to sit up more on his golf cart rides, as long as the speed is slow. Otherwise, he drapes himself across the passenger.

Our day started early

Friday, we parked at Stirling in the golf cart and walked to the tidal bridge, above.
