Beautiful morning walk on the causeway: 77 degrees, partly cloudy, and a good steady breeze.

We made a quick trip to TJ's before lunch. We learned that there's an Aldi's opening up, and it's even closer. The stores were founded by German brothers. I think the stores are similar, except Aldi's has a center aisle of odds and ends and one-time specials, nicknamed "the aisle of shame" because you end up buying things you didn't know you needed. We will check it out when it opens in October.

After we got home, I cut down a couple of dead bushes on the north side of the house.

I used our sawzall to make quick work of the dead bushes.

Looks better. I might get that big one next that's leaning towards our neighbors' fence.

 

While I was doing outside work, I cleaned the gutters and cleared out our A/C drain with a couple of gallons of hot water and a vacuum.

We rode downtown and got new Olukai flips to replace our 8 year old pairs.

I rode over 300 miles on my bike during the month of September, the most miles in a month in over 3 years.

Saturday

 

Early morning walk with Toby in the neighborhood 

Then we rode our bikes out to the Dunedin Causeway to walk.

It was cloudy and 77 degrees with rain in the forecast for mid-morning.

We drove to Trader Joe's and got caught in a huge downpour for about 15 minutes.

Neighbors updating their house with new stucco, removing bricks for bedding, and covering accent bricks with stucco, removing shutters, adding new framing of windows. I guess they got inspired by the neighbors' similar changes two houses down. It's a fresh look, clean and simple. The blue film on the doors and windows is temporary.

Friday

 

Beautiful Friday morning. 77 degrees, 2 mph breeze. 

We left the house (after walking Toby before dawn) around 7:30 on our bikes headed to Clearwater Beach.

I had plenty of room to stretch while John went jogging back on the causeway trail to the bridge.

John dropped me off at Weaver Park for me to do strength training.

After lunch, we took Toby in the golf cart to Hammock Park for a walk.

Then we continued on to downtown to Jensen's Seafood to pick up some fish for tonight. Toby got treats from the fish man.

The sky on the way home was so beautiful.

Last walk of the day at Stirling Park: 84 degrees, 12 mph breeze.

Thursday

 

We walked Toby before sunrise in the neighborhood. Then rode our bikes out to the Dunedin Causeway to walk. The Sound looked like a lake.

There was zero breeze, but fortunately it was only 77 degrees, so it wasn't too hot.

After lunch, we took Toby in the golf cart to Highlander Park for a walk on the shell path.

Wednesday

Wednesday morning, I left for Weaver Park for stretching and strength training on bike at 7:30 and arrived about 7:45. I had a dental appointment at 10:00, so I kept the exercise local. 

We took Toby in the golf cart downtown to Bark Place to get him some ice cream.

Such concentration.

The flavor was beef stew, and it had real chunks of beef in it.
