Beautiful morning walk and jog on the causeway. It was 75 degrees with a 1 mph breeze.
Lots of people on water and land.
Brunch
Our decorative tile for the bathroom remodel arrived last night. They weren't due until Tuesday. They are beautiful, but like the kitchen tile, they look even better in person.
The name is Juneau Spring with blue, aqua, brown and silver.
The tiles will cover the wall behind where the shower is and behind where the current tub is, all the way to the ceiling. This wall will be the focal point of the bathroom, so we wanted to make sure we would have the tile and not have to wait for it on back order. The wall at the end of the vanity with the hair dryer on it will be removed. That shower wall will be all glass all the way to the floor. The other shower wall to the right with the fixtures will be the same tile as the floor.
I unpacked 12 of these small boxes of tile. It reminded me of unpacking specimen slides that we used to use in the laboratory to examine blood samples under a microscope. We have 10 more small boxes on the way. They should arrive Tuesday.
I laid the tiles out and examined each one.
There were only 3 questionable tiles. I set them aside. If we don't return them, the tilers can use them for cut pieces.
There was only one broken tile. I'll consider filing a damage claim once I inspect the other 10 boxes on Tuesday.
The next critical purchase for the design is the round tub. The project will not work as well with any other shape, so we want to make sure we get the round tub. After that, we'll start ordering the things we will need immediately after demolition.
I think this background inspired our tile choice; they are very similar.
Currently, our project is scheduled to begin in late August.
Yummy and convenient leftovers
