Wednesday

We dropped Toby off at daycare at 8:30. We drove home and got our bikes and headed to the causeway to walk.

We parked at Walgreens to lengthen our walk. We didn’t have to get back for Toby and we planned lunch out.

The high temperature today was 88 degrees, but it was in the upper 70s when we headed out and 85 by the time we finished.

There was a good breeze on the way back.

Toby was very excited to enjoy his playtime.

He walked and walked.

The pictures above are from the early morning. Notice all the energy and movement.

The picture above is from late afternoon. The dogs are exhausted. Many are lying down. Toby is sitting. Others are still walking.

He collapsed in the back of the car as soon as we drove out of the parking lot. Worth every penny.

John and I treated ourselves to Cricketers in the Causeway Plaza, after 2 1/2 years of wanting to eat here. We kept avoiding it because it’s expensive and we thought everything would be fried. We try to avoid fried food whenever possible.

We had planned on splurging and getting fish and chips, a British specialty, but we decided to go with the Wednesday Special: meatloaf, mashed potatoes, and peas. It was amazing! Delicious. Great comfort food. We can’t wait to go back and try some other lunch specials.

The meatloaf was served over a slice of bread and topped with gravy. The gravy was spiced with chunks of marinated bacon! My Dad needs to try this on his next trip. The potatoes were real; they even had chunks of potatoes mixed in. John said his mom used to leave chunks in her mashed potatoes so her boys would know they were real and not from a box.

After lunch, we rode our bikes to the outskirts of Clearwater on the Pinellas Trail.

We stopped to take pictures at Stevenson Creek.

The condominiums continue to take shape.

Toby curled up next to me while I put this blog post together.

He’s heading to the shower, soon.

Tuesday

We drove to Dollar General after walking Toby this morning. The forecast was iffy, so we didn’t want to be caught on our bikes. From DG, we walked the causeway and back.

We had lunch and walked around the neighborhood and rode our bikes around the neighborhood.

Toby got his breakfast from my hand and his dinner from his puzzle.

He gets to go to puppy daycare tomorrow. He will be glad. He thinks we’re super boring.

Despite the forecast, it never rained. We got a 50% off text from Jet’s Pizza that was impossible to refuse.

Just pretty skies.

It has been a low key day. We watched another episode of The Girl in the Mirror, still creepy and confusing.

Monday

Skies were cloudy, so after walking Toby, we washed the car. The temperature today was nice this morning: 77 degrees. The high temperature today was 88 degrees, but with a good breeze and lots of clouds. (The picture above is a little blurry because I took it while riding my bike with the camera in its handlebar holder.)

After walking in the neighborhood some more, we hitched up Toby’s trailer to John’s bike and headed to Publix to pick up some heavy items, like milk and jelly, as well as some light things.

On one walk, we made it to the Pinellas Trail.

I spotted this unusual attachment.

After lunch, we walked Toby and played fetch in the backyard. Then John and I rode our bikes downtown. Things were pretty calm, not a lot of people out.

I took a detour to San Jose Park to look at the high tide.

We also took a detour to check out the high tide at Hammock Park where Cedar Creek passes by on the way to the sound.

We’ve seen it higher, but not much higher. Before the city made this tidal pond, the streets would flood at even a regular high tide. Welcome to climate change.

Toby made it through the day without treats on his walks. He’s not happy about it, but we all have to grow up sometime.

Sunday

We’re watching The Girl in the Mirror on Netflix. There’s a dog barking in it, and Toby had to get up and investigate.

We rode our bikes to the causeway and walked this morning after walking Toby in the neighborhood.

It has been cooler than it has been. The temperature was in the upper 70s when we started and low 80s when we finished.

Sunday is a popular day to get out on the water.

There were storms all around us. We just got pretty clouds.

Saturday

We took Toby in his go cart to Highlander Park for an afternoon walk. It rained this morning which has kept the temperatures lower than normal today, mid 80s.

Sunset concerts begin in September at Weaver Park.

We stayed at home today and took short walks between rain showers. Our neighbors had a double rainbow over their house.

I drove the three of us to Juan’s for a burrito.

We’re watching The Girl in the Mirror on Netflix. I thought it was going to be a love story, but so far it’s sci fi and creepy.
