This bird hangs out at our neighbor's house. His favorite roost in on the hood of the car. He's drawn to the cat's outdoor food bowl, I suspect, though I've never seen him eating. One time, I saw the cat and bird walking single file in the middle of the street, together, not in a threatening or predatory way. Just walking. The bird is 3-4 times as large as the cat. They made an odd pair.
The juxtaposition of the car and bird made me think of our quarantine. The bird looks out of place, like he should be somewhere else, maybe the beach?
Since we can't go to the beach due to the closure of Honeymoon Island, I thought I'd round up some pictures of a recent trip in March to the northern tip before the state park closed due to the corona virus.
Instead of going to the beach or the causeway today, we headed off to Kafe Racer's bike shop to repair a flat tire. Their shop is located directly on the Pinellas Trail, just a couple of blocks from Main Street. They repaired the flat in a jiffy. And, yes, bike shops are on the list of essential businesses in Pinellas County.
And we made it home without hitting anything.
