Crave

Happy Father's Day!
👔
To the best Dad in the world. Thank you for all of your love and support.

Success! Dee Dee ate a little over two cans of dog food yesterday, after we switched over to some premium brands hoping to entice her to eat more. This brand promises over 99% from "animal sources" with beef being the 1st ingredient. No grain. I think even my Dad would like this food!!

John gave her this can and another to choose from and she chose this one decisively. It was so good that she finished off 1/2 can this morning at 7:30, the first time she's eaten before noon all week.

Great marketing, with the name and image, huh? Worked for us.

She followed that up by eating 3/4 a can of Newman's Own for lunch, which means we're not shifting her eating times. She's actually eating more. IF she eats more tonight, that is. We're keeping a tally of what she likes and how much she eats and when.

I'm afraid to say it, but I think she might be improving. She's walking with a spring in her step and eating with gusto. She's sleeping better and not coughing very much. She's even sleeping curled up which she hasn't been able to do because of the bloating. She's still wide with labored breathing, but she seems better. I'm sure having more nutrients has got to help. A few days ago, I did not think she would make it through the weekend. Now, she looks like she might be able to hold her own for a while.

This increased food consumption is making things much better and much less depressing.

The yard is lush.

This bed is crazy wild. I think it needs a complete do-over. We'll get to it.

These pictures are from this morning's early morning Dee Dee causeway walk.

I really could use a High and Dry burger and fries!

Instead, we made a picnic lunch and headed to the Pinellas Trail on bike, right across from Knot on Main collectables, just in front of one of the new entrances to the new Stirling Park. It was a gorgeous day, 84 degrees with a 5 mph breeze.

There were a ton of bikers out.

I did some work and reading during the early afternoon; then we headed to the island on our bikes. The traffic was backed up on the causeway, so it was nice to just be able to ride on by the line waiting to get in. We stayed off the beach and just took these few pictures from the parking lot.

We found this shady spot to re-hydrate.

Dinner for us: leftover lasagna and a salad.

Dinner for Dee Dee: Wolf Creek Stew.
She reached her food intake goal for the first time this week: 2 1/4 cans of food.

15.32 miles biking
2 miles walking
