Lazy Saturday

We took Dee Dee out to Honeymoon Island this morning. We were all feeling a bit groggy this morning because we had some strong thunderstorms pass through in the middle of the night.  Dee Dee, who is now nearly deaf, can still hear thunder apparently and she can definitely see lightning. She hopped down out of the bed and roamed from room to room trying to find her safe room. Unfortunately, we don't have any interior rooms except for the laundry room and closets. So she was a bit restless. John got up and took her to the office while he played a computer game. That helped her to settle down. A couple of hours later, the storm had passed and we all went back to sleep.

In our new normal with Dee Dee, this was a good day. She didn't want to eat or take her meds until after her walk this morning. But she did finally eat.

It was 76 on our walk with light winds after the morning rain tapered off. I had to wear long sleeves.

After lunch, we rode our bikes back out to the island. Since it was Saturday, we stayed off the beach and on the trail to keep our distance from people. The beach was fairly crowded. It got up to 84 degrees today with light winds most of the day.

 Our ducks are back!

The rain has made everything lush and colorful.

We stayed mostly indoors today, reading and playing computer games. It was a restful day.

I raked leaves and fallen avocados, did some house chores, and vacuumed sand out of the car.

Walked 2.4 miles
Biked 12.24
