We walked to downtown this morning instead of the usual causeway walk. We thought there would be fewer people, but there were many.
There was a market going on. Masks were strongly encouraged and all we had were our neck scarves. We had planned to come back, but we got distracted with other things.
There was a singer performing in the gazebo for tips.
It was in the low 80s and the winds were blowing at 7 mph when we started, but picked up later in the day.
Beautiful day.
We got fresh fruit from Publix yesterday, so we had a yummy fruit dessert: cantaloupe, peach, nectarine, red grapes, blueberries, and a dollop of peach yogurt. The sandwich was turkey and swiss. And there were corn chips with tzatziki dip.
After lunch we rode our bikes to Tarpon Springs. We stopped at the Dunn Water Treatment plant to get filtered and chilled water.
Downtown Tarpon was looking lovely. It has been a while since we came this far. The last time we were here was during the shut down. We could ride our bikes on the sidewalks of the sponge docks. There were very few cars. Not so today. The sidewalks were crammed with people and the streets were full. We turned around and raced home before an approaching storm hit us.
We got home just in time. It rained for a good while. We got a little over a half of an inch.
John fixed spaghetti and I fixed a salad. Then we took Dee Dee for a walk on the Pinellas Trail. She had another good day. She ate on her own again, and she even ate some dry dog food.
She did have an active night, though. She got up to pee four times before midnight. The last time I woke John up to go with me thinking that maybe she needed a longer walk to do her business. I don't like to walk alone with the coyotes and bob cats in the neighborhood. So at midnight, we went on a half mile walk in the neighborhood. Uneventful, all around, but she was able to settle down and sleep the rest of the night. So we woke up feeling a little out of sorts.
The storm that passed through cleared the trail of most bikers.
biking: 21.01 miles
walking: 7 miles

I love my new bike. Thanks for giving Jeff valuable info. Glad to hear that Dee Fee is doing well.
ReplyDeleteWalter fell again down the fourteen steps in Gail’s house. Limped a little yesterday but seems fine tonight. We are so happy to be back on Barnsdale.
