I inherited John's T-shirt.
There were more than a dozen kayaks on the way to Caledesi Island on our causeway walk on Thursday.
This morning's walk was exceptionally nice. The temperature was 84 degrees and the wind was blowing over 13 mph. There were lots of clouds for shade, but some blue sky as well. We ended up walking 7.9 miles.
Dee Dee has improved significantly. Her appetite has returned and her energy level is up. She's even eating her old dry, dog food, which she had give up two months ago.
During those two months we've been closely monitoring her food consumption and tastes. We record when she eats, what she eats, and how much. We had to start doing this because she no longer would eat on a schedule and would often walk away from her food, so we started buying all sorts of canned dog food trying to get her to eat. We have even been hand feeding her for the last several weeks, because if we placed her food in a bowl, she wouldn't eat it. Even hand feeding would get the cold shoulder treatment, so we just had to keep trying, hence the record keeping.
Well, today she started eating out of her own dish. She ate from cans of food from the refrigerator that had been rejected earlier. She ate so often and so much that we gave up trying to record it.
I hope this means she's improving and feels good enough to eat on a more regular schedule.
She's also taking her medicine without the usual struggles and trickery.
She still looks bloated and her edema appears to be coming back, but so far she's not coughing like she was two months ago when she was in real distress.
As for this blog, I've been having some technical issues with uploading pictures. I haven't figured out the solution yet. But that's why yesterday's blog was delayed and why there are no pictures from today. Of course, I haven't had much time to investigate because of school work. But I'll figure it out and be back to normal soon, I hope.
