We came back out to the island using our new annual pass for our morning walk. It was around 8:30, and it was already 84 degrees. The wind was blowing at 1 mph. We walked from the island back across the bridge and then back. It was one of the toughest morning walks so far. I thought I'd have to spend the afternoon in the ER.
Once we finished our walk, we managed to ride our bikes to the end of the paved part of Honeymoon Island and then we took the unpaved trail in the woods. It was less hot and riding the bike was much easier than walking.
Here’s a picture of our route.
We had fruit and sandwich for lunch. John says why don't you just use one of the pictures from last week. They all look the same. So not true.
I stayed awake as long as I could. Then I gave up and took a nap. I slept for 1.5 hours. So very tired.
For dinner, we had our first Beyond Meat burger. It was really good. They have nailed the texture of hamburger meat and the taste was spot on too. The packaging seemed over the top--lots of waste. We had a salad on the side.
I found the energy after dinner to tie up the flowers at the mailbox. They were flopped over, roots exposed. The lawn service can't help but butcher them as they cut the grass. I found a semicircle piece of concrete to hold the dirt and used some old string to tie up the branches. We'll see how this holds.
Dee Dee enjoyed three home-cooked dog food meals today. We actually prepare it in bulk and then spoon it out. She ate it all.
Miles walked: 7.6
Miles biked: 14.31
