Yours truly at the entrance to the Dunedin Causeway, a 2.5 mile ribbon of asphalt and sand from the mainland to Honeymoon Island.
It continued to rain off and on from the remnants of Hurricane Sally.
The tide was high, the winds were strong, and the sound was rough.
But we did have some blue in the skies.
There was flooding on the causeway and the beach.
Sadly, the city had just dumped loads of new sand on the causeway beaches the day before. The workers spread it out and rolled it smooth. Today's high tide grabbed much of it and took it out to sea.
The view above is from the north end of the Honeymoon Island parking lot. All of the water on this side of the fence and sign used to be for parking. We rode our bikes out to the island after lunch; then we rode downtown. We made it home just in time to avoid a thunderstorm. The wind was blowing 16 mph on the causeway.
John made BBQ chicken in the crock pot and added some turnips. I added some orzo.
