We went for a bike ride to downtown this morning after Dee Dee's island walk. We locked our bike's across from Al Fresco's and walked through the neighbor hood. We stumbled upon this exquisite succulent garden, cleverly named the "Octopus Garden."
Our first destination was to see the new coffee shop on Wood St., called Tukro. We read about it in the Dunedin Beacon newspaper.
We had already had coffee and we're not quite ready to enter enclosed spaces with other people, even though we had our masks. But it was interesting to see where it was located.
I guess if you like where you are, you'd find the sign above reassuring.
This is the backside of the Little Library on Main and the Pinellas Trail, a scene of what Dunedin looked like in the 50s.
Dee Dee continues to struggle. She will no longer eat chicken that we cook for her. We were getting a little desperate as the clocked ticked on to 1:00 p.m. and she'd only eaten a 2.5 ounce jar of baby food and hadn't taken her 6:00 a.m. meds.
Her doctor had given us an appetite stimulant to inject into her mouth. We were keeping it in reserve until we had no other choice. So I gave that to her. She rejected the chicken, but she took the Boar's Head turkey that we had just bought at Publix for our own sandwiches. I was able to get her meds delivered in the turkey. Then John fried an egg for her, the best easy-over egg he's ever cooked, he said. She gobbled that up like a pelican eating a fish. I don't know if it was the food or the stimulant, but she ate, and that was good.
We managed an afternoon neighborhood walk.
A neighbor heard about Dee Dee and brought a plate of zucchini bread for us, very much appreciated.
She has slept most of the day. We all took a nap late this afternoon.
We biked to Stevenson Creek on the Pinellas Trail after our morning downtown walk.
Miles biked: 11.17
