Friday

We made it through the day without another name change. We took Toby on much shorter walks today, but more of them. He was awake more today.

He woke us up at 1:00 a.m. We took him out to pee. Then he got up to get water; then he went to get all of his toys and bring them all to bed, one by one. He played for a while. Finally, he went back to sleep. I think he slept too much during the day.

I was glad to see him do the frog leg maneuver. It means his legs are working normally for a puppy.

We played the name game with treats. He was much more energetic today than yesterday.

We are working out the details of vaccinations and neutering. We have to use the adoption agency’s vet because the health care was included in the adoption fee. We will be glad when all that’s over and we can go to our vet.

Neighbors are introducing themselves to Toby. One neighbor gave us two huge bags of dog treats that his dog didn’t like. One stopped in the street. Two saw us walk by and came outside to meet Toby.

A Roseate Spoonbill

It seems that there are always a few loose ends dealing with moving and retiring. I got confirmation today that I’ll get a vehicle tax refund from Alamance county. I got confirmation of our dental insurance. I’m working on a refund from NC car insurance. Life stuff.

Miles walked: 6.4
Miles biked: 4.42

  1. I love the name Toby. Played tennis this morning. Worked in the yard today for 4 hours. Nice quiet evening. Love you.

  2. Had lots of phone calls today. Robin brought another dish. I labeled and froze lots of good food for future. Dad fixed hot dogs for supper. 🤷‍♀️Stay seated most of the day. Look forward to tomorrow. Hope Toby sleeps better tonight.
