John is trying to explain to Toby how his being in the bed is making it much more difficult to make up.
He looks totally different running when his ears stand up. A man at the park this afternoon said he looks like Spike in the Budweiser commercials.
So, here's today's drama story with a happy ending . . .
This morning we went for a short walk around the block and decided to leave Toby loose in the house. For some reason we exited via the garage door, and since it was a short walk (to observe a pool installation), we left the garage door up.
About 15 minutes later, we returned . . .
When we walked up to the house, the picture above is what we saw.
Yep. Toby had managed to open the door (handle lever style) and let himself out through the garage door.
He didn’t go anywhere. He just sat at the front door and waited for us to come home.
When he saw us, he came running to greet us.
Then he celebrated his superior intelligence. We both looked at each other in shock and laughed. At least he wasn’t destroying the furniture.
I like drama comedies.
We took Toby for an early morning walk on the causeway to get him exposed to people again.

We drove out to the island afterwards.
John suggested making the salad in a large bowl and tossing it with dressing instead of making individual salads.
Good idea. Easier to eat.
Morning coffee, news, snuggle time. Toby will sleep like this until my bladder forces me to wake him so I can get up.

Toby is a genius and good for him to wait for you to come home.
ReplyDeleteThe photo of Toby waiting on you to return was priceless. This needs to be submitted for publication. Great story/photo.
