Thursday

Finally, we got some warm weather. It was 68 degrees at midday, about 60 when we walked the causeway this morning.

The water was very calm as was the wind. The sky and the water were seamless.

We left Toby to roam freely in the house. John set up a Zoom meeting so that we could see and hear him while we were on our walk. Toby did pretty well. He whined some and soft-barked some, but he was quiet most of the time. Fellow walkers must have wondered where that noise was coming from as we passed them.

On our walks our minds are now free to think of the mundane instead of fearing what the president might be doing next. What a relief to have competent leaders! My anxiety level is so much lower and my tolerance for life is better.

Toby continues to enjoy his flirt pole a couple of times a day.

I got my hand banged up exiting the house with Toby on the leash in a bigger hurry than I was.  I got a big hematoma and a lot of blood. I put ice on it and John gave me two ibuprofen. Clearly, not too serious, as I was still able to open the chocolate wrapper.

John made curry chicken (with turmeric, ginger, and garlic), rice, and butter beans for dinner. Toby supervised.

Last week, when we got home from the pet store with new toys, he was so excited.  I put the bag of toys on the counter, and he leaped from the floor to the counter top, all four feet barely clearing the edge. We were speechless. He's not a very good athlete, being a bit clumsy and all, but he nailed the landing. I hope he never tries that maneuver again.

This stance he can handle.

Miles walked: 10
Miles biked: 0

  1. Are you saying Toby leaped up onto the counter landing all 4 paws on the counter? So sorry to hear about your booboo with Toby/lease. Boo Hoo! Good job on dinner John.
