The mural at HOB (House of Beer) looks complete. The artist even painted a Santa in the lower left corner.
We stuck to the neighborhood with Toby bike rides today.
For my competitive family members: The NYT's mini crossword took me 3:36 seconds today.
I got 23 points in the NYT's Spelling Bee game. Best words: noir, ninny, ricin, lily, lyric.
There was no blog on Sunday because our Spectrum service was down for several hours. Then there was no blog for Monday because we were having other technical issues, mainly with our aging computer (2013) and printer. We ended up having to go to Staples to print and fax some things for John's upcoming doctor's visit.
John got his first shingles vaccination yesterday. The pharmacist says that 30% of patients show flu-like symptoms after the shot. I did when I got mine. Today, he was feeling a bit out of sorts, but he was able to go on walks and Toby rides.
On Monday, we were also able to get an H&R Block appointment for our taxes and confirmed that they could access our previous returns to speed up the process. I hope by late March things will be much improved, Covid-wise.
With these appointments, I finally made it to the bottom of my retirement checklist. Now, I'm accumulating a "to do" list for house things.
We binge-watched Bridgerton on Netflix. It was like a less complicated version of Downton Abbey, set in 1813 in London during the reign of "mad" King George III. The series had the feel of a romance novel, but it was entertaining. The big twist from most period dramas is that the time period is imagined with whites and blacks being equal. The writers had the king marry a black woman and decree an end to discrimination, although all that was off screen and settled when the series begins. Therefore, there were black aristocrats and royals. It was a refreshing view of what might have been. Race was a non-issue.
Miles walked: 7.6
Miles biked: 3.18

I loved Bridgerton. I binge watched it this weekend while Jeff as sailing.
ReplyDeleteLove your coverlet.
Spelling Bee - I also got Noir and ricin but not the others.
Bedspread is lovely. Good selection. The mural is great. Enjoyed it, especially Santa Clau. I am enjoying the family spelling competition. Glad Toby has made another friend with Finn. Having to upgrade technical devises is not fun. Impressed you are getting IRS info together.
