Tuesday

Folks are getting festive for the inauguration.

Toby’s enjoying some warm rays on the front lawn. It got up to 66 degrees, and I see 70s in the forecast. This month has been colder than I thought it would be. John said there weren’t this many cold days in a row last year.

But we’re still in shorts, so . . .

Sitting around this morning waiting for things to warm up. John was singing some sort of improvised aria, so I told him I was going to record it for my blog to get him to be quiet. The picture above shows my success.

Early morning golf course view.

We got takeout lasagna from Julian’s, near our first vacation house back in 2017. It was great. A nice treat.

We did research on tipping etiquette for take out. The consensus is that there is no obligation to tip, especially if it’s a simple order and not curbside service. However, if it’s a favorite restaurant and you wish to help out during COVID or the order is complicated, then a 5-10% tip is appropriate. Before we did our research, we tipped twice and didn’t tip once in our recent spate of takeout.

Toby has been great today. He gets bursts of energy and wants to put everything in his mouth, but those times are short and he can be easily distracted. He’s sleeping through the night consistently, and most of the time waits for us to stir before getting out of bed.

He gets cold at night (poor guy doesn’t have much fur), so we have to cover him in his own blanket, completely covered. If he gets out from under it during the night, he’ll wake you up (with a paw in the back) to cover him up again.

He’s a very sweet dog, and I love him.

  1. Such a sweet update on Toby. Love the blanket story. Well tomorrow is the big day politically speaking.

  2. Love the Toby update. I walked over 4 miles today. It felt good! I have a chicken Recipe in the oven with Brussel sprouts and Fuji apples as a base. Bacon on top. Arranged a street send off to o w of our neighbors who is moving downtown. We were outside with masks and learned a lot about each other.
