Monday

The temperature got up to 77 degrees today, even though it was a chilly 62 on our morning causeway walk.

We went to sleep last night about 8:30 and were awakened by fireworks around 10:30 when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers won the Super Bowl. Toby patrolled the house on full alert, barking as firecrackers were popping and fog horns were blaring. It took a while to get back to sleep.

I worked in the yard after lunch raking leaves. Hard work because I was raking those tiny oak leaves that had wedged themselves down in the grass. I did a third of the yard where they were the worst.

We were too tired to make any dinner plans so I had a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and John had three hard boiled eggs. Fortunately, we had a better balanced lunch.

Toby has been very demanding today, driving us both crazy. But on our last walk we ran into Ken and Stephen and their dog Yuki.

They got to play together and burn off some puppy energy. Apparently, Yuki gets crazy in the afternoon too.

The two dogs got to roll around and play.

Of course they got filthy, so we gave Toby a bath when he got home. He’s clean as a whistle.

  1. Love Toby’s friend. Cute as a button. The game was awesome last night. When growing up on 4017 Hamilton Rd, we had those pissy leaves. Mom and I raked them EVERY SATURDAY. THE BOYS WERE TOO YOUNG to help. Your weather looks lovely. However, we had some sun today. Thank you for your blog. Love you bunches.
