John and I rode our bikes downtown this morning and locked them up at Main Street. It was 73 degrees. Then we walked to Union Street (the southern boundary between Dunedin and Clearwater) via the Pinellas Trail. Then we walked over to Edgewater Drive (also known as Alt. 19) to Hubbard Park, which runs along St. Joseph Sound.
We passed a couple of neighbors and former neighbors along the trail and stopped to talk to a couple of folks on our bike ride through the neighborhood. I told John how surprised I was that we knew so many people. I guess it's because we do so much walking and people in Florida tend to be outside a lot, so it's easy to meet people. Also, having a dog makes it really easy, especially a puppy. No one can resist a goofy puppy.
Toby's getting better at letting people touch him, but it usually takes 2-3 encounters before he will allow them to get that close. He's much more shy of people than he is of other dogs.
Today, we met a couple and their dog on our early morning walk. As Toby got to know their dog, the woman walked right up to Toby and petted him, on the first meeting. Having a dog and some confidence goes a long way with Toby when he's meeting someone new. As they say, a dog-lover shows good character.
Clearwater Beach across St. Joseph's Sound.
It eventually warmed up to 79 degrees.
Today’s bike route (without Toby) to downtown.
Tonight I fixed salmon, peas, and red potatoes. I made a glaze out of the lemon from our back yard, honey, garlic, soy sauce and some starch. John says the lemon is a wild orange. May be, but it tastes like a lemon.

ReplyDeleteThat Toby is making friends for you.
I agree with Pam. Glad your family can enjoy that weather. That blue flower is beautiful. Do you know it’s name? That shade of blue is rare in my garden circles.
