Saturday

We got the light fixture installed . . . and it is bright!

It was pretty easy to hang, as far as overhead light fixtures go.

The tedious part was screwing in the 140 "sparkle wands."

We did a test before we cut the bundled strands.

Then I cut 140 zip ties holding the bundles together.

There it is.

Now we need to replace the fixture in the office, and make sure the light colors are the same.

My sister found this beauty online, but it takes incandescent lights or compact florescent lights. But this is the style I like. It coordinates with the entry light without competing with it.

Toby had us at home all day. We did manage to meet Jose's (and Ray's) sister and brother-in-law this morning on our neighborhood walk. We struck up a conversation and one fact led to another and we figured out who she was when she said her brother had a house on Jones.

At 3:30 when Toby’s puppy mania was starting, we texted our new friend from a few days ago for a puppy play date. She said, sure, come on over.

We are new to this, so didn’t quite know what to expect. Let the games begin!

It may be the last time she has us over because the dogs went crazy.

You can't even see the pattern on Toby's harness.

There was lots of dirt involved.

And dog slobber.

More ground-in dirt.

More slobber. Mazy had on a brand new St. Patrick's Day bandana.

Add a little pool water to make mud.

Toby had a blast.

I'm pretty sure Mazy did too!

We were all laughing at the mess. Mazy's mom was such a good sport. She invited Toby for a bath, but we thought it best to separate them to prevent further mayhem.

First he got hosed off in the yard. Then the bath tub.

I managed to clean house and John went to get us a burrito to split from Juan's.

  1. I love your Toby stories. He may be A Jeff in a dog life.

  2. I also of the opinion that babies and puppies need to make messes while they learn.

  3. I am laughing out loud at Toby’s visit with Mazy. It will be interesting if Mazy ever comes down your street again. Tee hee. Great job on the chandelier hanging and the selection process. 👏👏
