Tuesday

We were riding our bikes home from our morning causeway walk when John spotted the floor lamp above on the side of the road, in the usual Fairway Estates roadside-free-pick-up. He grabbed it on the fly and used his throttle to get him home. Just what we needed.

I installed the new LED light fixture for our closet this afternoon. It helped that I had already installed the same fixture in the laundry room, but no project is ever the same or ever easy. I had to do some modifications to make it work--made a big mess and took much longer than it should have.

We can now see our clothes that we don't wear.

We enjoyed the plantings one of our neighbors put out.

The causeway walk was beautiful. It was 75 degrees and mostly cloudy.

We can tell that winter is over because when we get up at 5:30 and walk Toby we can put on shorts and a t-shirt, no long sleeves or layering required. This morning it was 70 degrees.

Continuing with the light theme, our next house project is going to be replacing the florescent lights in the living room, the ones that accent the ceiling in the photo above. There are 4 of them. The last one isn't on in the photo. They are all unreliable; sometimes none come on, sometimes one or two; sometimes a few hours after you turn them on, they will come on. They are 30 years old. I think some LED lights would be a huge improvement, maybe even ones that change colors for different moods, ha. I need to do some research.

Toby thinks house projects are boring.

Today's short bike route to this side of the draw bridge

We split a chicken burrito from Juan's Mexican Grill for dinner.

Miles walked: 8.5
Miles biked: 5.01

  1. Talk to me about lights before you install lights that change colors.

  2. Love your new lamp. Good score.

I stand by my initial thoughts regarding colored lights.

Dimmers and soft light create amazing ambiance!
