Wednesday

There is something to be said for a city that erects a sign like this on the sidewalk instead of removing the plants or killing the bees. The plants were beautiful and the bees are essential workers.

We took a ride downtown after lunch. It was 77 degrees.

I stopped by Weaver Park to visit the outdoor gym while John rode home to make a phone call.

This man was exercising his dog on the Pinellas Trail.

I cut through Hammock Park on the way home to check on the excavation project. They are still digging and landscaping. I'll post pictures when they get through and remove the barriers. They've taken a street flooding problem and turned it into a water feature in the park, one that can be enjoyed from the existing boardwalk.

Our morning causeway walk was nice. It was a pleasant 66-70 degrees with a 10 mph breeze--so pleasant that we took our bikes instead of the car. Always a plus.

My LED lights arrived today for the living room/kitchen upper accent lights, but I'm having second thoughts. The color of the lights is not as bright as our other lights (color temperature 4000 instead of 6000) and I've learned that there is a kit for converting florescent light fixtures to LED fixtures, which would avoided putting 7 fixtures in the landfill. And an added bonus, it would be about half the price. I need to do some more research and talk to the folks at Ace.

We ordered this light for our entry hall. I think it arrives Friday (assembly required!). Based on what it looks like in the space, we'll start looking for a suitable fixture for the adjoining office, use this one in the office and look for another entry fixture, or send it back and start over.

We also registered for our Covid vaccinations on the Florida website. However, we were not allowed to schedule an appointment because they are only accepting people over 65.

Today's bike route to the causeway, around downtown, the outdoor gym at Weaver Park, and through Hammock Park.

Miles walked: 10.4
Miles biked: 13.61

  1. The light fixture is dazzling. I love it. Can’t wait for a report. Hope it works. The flora/ landscape is beautiful that you sent today. NC is just getting a few daffodils. I plan to buy a very few pansies for the patio. It makes me happy to see them from our living area.
