Toby likes to take lots of breaks when he goes on a walk.

We eventually coax him back to the walk after he’s rolled around a bit.

Most dogs roll around on top of something smelly to get the scent all over them in some legacy ritual to disguise their scent when out on a hunt.

Toby has lost that gene; he rolls around in clean grass just because it feels good. Lucky us. Dexter, our beloved lab, could find truly disgusting things to roll in.

Toby found two dozen abandoned hot dog buns in the yard next door. Every time he goes out he tries to scarf down a few more.

There was a long line of jet skis heading out to the islands on our walk this morning. 

Originally, we planned to bike out to the island and walk on the beach. It was low tide and cloudy, perfect for beach walking. But the weather forecast called for a15-minute shower. So we drove to the causeway and walked our usual route. Of course, it didn’t rain.

The skies cleared. The high temperature was 80 degrees. Rain chances improve over the next four days.

I put this lemon dill hummus on toast and topped it with our neighbor’s Italian tapenade for lunch. Oh, my, what a wonderful combination of flavors!

We did some cleaning with our clean green machine. Yuck! No words.
