Sunday

The great white egrit mailbox is all decked out for Easter.

These flowers are putting on a show as well.

With the temperature in the low 60s, we decided to walk to Mira Vista Park and look at the Dunedin Causeway instead of walking on it.

Those kayakers must be freezing.

We got to Mira Vista Park via the Pinellas Trail with a pit stop at Hammock Park. (We know where all the public facilities are.)

The Sugarberry Trail in Hammock Park parallels the Pinellas Trail and took us to Mira Vista Avenue and from there we crossed the Pinellas Trail and it was a four-block walk to the water.

We reflected that it was one year ago that everything was on lock down and we came to this same park often because it provided a socially-distanced destination.

It's a pretty place to sit and think. Our time is flying by. I’ve quickly adjusted to retirement and my new life. Being with John 24/7 has been easier and more enjoyable than I thought. He’s funny, interesting, and thoughtful. We work well together. I think without work stress, I’m much easier to be around, too.

I miss Dee Dee terribly. I am grateful for Toby. He’s no replacement, of course, but he fills an important need. Thank goodness he’s an easy dog.

On our early morning Toby walk, the temperature had not yet breached 60. We enjoyed watching this raccoon squirrel hop along the fence. They are much larger than the regular squirrels. They have distinct faces and that huge raccoon tail, hence the name.

We continue to like our new light fixtures. But at some point I'll need to get out the ladder and remove the black tape from the chain near the top. It was marking how high to hang it. I forgot to remove it.

I think our next project will be hallway lights. The current brass ones must go.

Toby sent himself to his crate again today when he couldn't get his way. Cracks me up.

When he had collected himself, he came out and behaved. But he wasn’t happy about it. He would rather play every waking minute.

Miles walked: 10.4
Miles biked: 0
