Thursday

On our late afternoon walk, we saw this artsy car near the Fine Art Center and Highland Park. It looks more like Key West than Dunedin.

The community center was looking good today.

We are thinking of going to the Dunedin Public Library tomorrow instead of our usual morning walk. John's been wanting a library card, and we're both interested in exploring audio books that we can listen to together and discuss. I'm not sure what technology is in use for that these days, but we're interested in finding out.

Toby spotted a loose dog about 80 yards away on the other side of Highlander Park. He really wanted to go play with the dog.

The causeway was really tough for us this morning. The breeze was light, about 3 mph, and the temperature was 82 degrees when we finished. I had to sit down and rest for a few minutes before getting on my bike and riding home. I was exhausted when I got up this morning, but I thought I could out walk it. But I never did. The entire walk was a struggle. Some days are like that. We're going to have to be creative with our walks this summer. I remember last summer having to bail on some causeway walks because of the heat. What we did last summer was ride our bikes more because there's always a breeze on a bike! Other times, we walked the shaded parts of the Pinellas Trail.

We split a Publix sub for dinner.

Miles walked: 8.3
Miles biked: 5.0

  1. You have walked great distances. Maybe more but shorter walks are in your future or walking somewhat slower will work.
