Monday

John got this shot of a locust on our afternoon walk at Highlander Park with Toby. It was 88 degrees this afternoon with an 11 mph breeze.

The forecast called for rain so we drove to the causeway to walk in case we needed to make a quick getaway. Alas, no rain, but it was a pleasant walk with a strong breeze and good cloud cover. Since we had the car, we stopped by Publix on the way home to buy heavy things (OJ), big things (milk), and fragile things (eggs & bread) that are difficult to transport on bike.

Toby got to say hi to his little neighborhood friend.

Lunch. Fruit and veggie bowl: Watermelon, red grapes, peach yogurt, carrots, cucumbers, cherries, blueberries, cottage cheese, beets, cauliflower, and a pickle. Turkey and cheese on toast for my sandwich.

After lunch, we rode our bikes on the Pinellas Trail south to Alt-19 outside of Clearwater. On the way home, I stopped at the gym while John went home to keep Toby company. I had the place to myself.

When I got home, we loaded Toby up in the car and took him for a walk in Highlander Park.

For his last walk of the day, I tried to take Toby for a walk by myself, but he wouldn’t leave the yard. He has to have his pack to feel safe, I guess. At least he treats us the same: he won’t go on a walk with John if I’m not there.

I added the white fur on the dog, but you can hardly see it. I’m beginning to see a resemblance of the dog to Toby: they’re both a bit goofy looking.

Toby doesn’t like it when I paint. He feels neglected and starts pawing at me to play. Therefore white fur is all I had time for.

Today’s bike route to Alt.-19 south of Dunedin on the Pinellas Trail

Miles walked: 9
Miles biked: 12.86

  1. Toby is a trip. Love his stories. Makes my day. This morning, I zoomed with my former gym buddies. Dad walked at the pond in MC.
