We’re getting ready for our after lunch walk in this picture.
John reports that he has lost 18 pounds eating high fiber cereal for breakfast, vegetable bowls for lunch, and splitting entrees with me for dinner. Our exercise has stayed the same: biking and walking about 20 miles a day, combined.
Layne’s Lemonade on the trail is looking colorful for gay pride month. 🏳️🌈
Why gay pride? One reason is that gay youth are 5 times more likely to commit suicide compared to straight teens. Studies show that if gay teens have at least one accepting adult, they are 40% less likely to kill themselves.
John and I were intrigued by this new sign on one of the stores alongside the Beach Company store on the Pinellas Trail, near Main Street.
We saw Ava the new self-driving electric bus.
It’s free and has two downtown routes. You can find more information here.
No buses here. This is Hammock Park, my favorite alternative to the Pinellas Trail for going downtown.
When we passed Curlew Creek on the Pinellas Trail coming back from Publix, I saw what turned out to be three manatees, two adults and a baby. The baby is off to the right.
It is so cool to see sights like this on a regular basis. It sure beats seeing dead fish from the red tide.
We started out this morning to ride our bikes out to Honeymoon Island, but we made it as far as the draw bridge when the stench of rotting fish turned us back. We rode the Pinellas Trail and kept away from the water as much as possible. The creeks did not appear to be affected.
I just overheard John disciplining Toby:
John: Do you want to get in the crate?
Toby: pausing and staring
John: Because everything you’re doing is wrong.
Today’s bike routes to the causeway, Stevenson Creek twice, and Weaver Park
Miles walked: 5
Miles biked: 26.91

Happy birthday Toby. So glad you joined our family and your cousin Walter.
