We rode our bikes out to the causeway and walked after our neighborhood Toby walk. The temperature was 81 degrees, but the wind was blowing at 12 mph and there was significant cloud cover.
I had a turkey and cheese on toast and a veggie and fruit bowl for lunch. I started with a layer of watermelon from the neighbors, then added peach yogurt, cauliflower, cucumbers, cherries, blueberries, and cottage cheese.
Before dinner, we rode our bikes downtown and on to Stevenson Creek.
On our late afternoon walk with Toby, we saw this spectacular tree full of yellow blooms with plenty scattered on the drive and street. I have no idea what kind it is.
We picked up Chinese takeout for dinner. Then headed back out to the causeway to watch the sunset.
Just about the time I took this picture, we heard a loud thud, the unmistakable sound of a car crash over on the causeway.
We went about our business, knowing we’d have to pass by it in a few minutes.
Someone got t-boned and taken away in an ambulance. It’s a tricky thing to watch car traffic, bikes, walkers, and beautiful scenery all at the same time. It’s easy to get distracted.
I worked on my painting a little bit.
Today’s bike routes to the causeway (x2) and Stevenson Creek
