After our morning Toby walk, we picked up Mom and Dad and headed to Wall Springs Park, Coastal Addition. John took a shortcut from the restroom and inadvertently walked through a soggy grass field where the water came up to his ankles. He was a good sport and completed the walk in wet shoes and socks.
It was about 82-84 degrees with a 6 mph breeze; humidity was equal to the temperature.
80 percent of the trail is through the woods with great shade. We stopped halfway at the restrooms to get water and rest.
We cut the walk short on the way back due to heat. Poor Toby was panting up a storm, and we were walking during his normal nap time. He kept trying to lie down in the grass. I ran ahead and drove the car to the halfway restrooms and picked everyone up.
We got a call from Mom while on the way to the Chatterbox Restaurant that Dad had lost his phone. We did a Find My and saw it at the Wall Springs Park. We fetched it and delivered it to them at the nail salon where they had a noon appointment and then John and I went to the Chatterbox for lunch.
The Chatterbox is inside the bowling alley. It’s a vintage diner, about what you would expect. Interesting photographs on the wall from its history. A busy place for locals.
For dinner, we ate at Our Place on Main Street and we all ordered something different: lasagna, grilled chicken, fish and chips, and pot roast and mashed potatoes. Everyone left happy and full. This was another local favorite with lots of regulars.
After dinner we checked out Resupply (next door to Our Place), a place to buy household cleansers by the ounce, using your own containers or theirs, helping to save the environment from waste.

Eternally grateful for Perry and John to recover Dad’s phone. They have been so accommodating EVERYDAY! …….. “it takes a whole village”
