The rain from Hurricane Elsa stopped in time for our Toby walk. Then we headed out to the causeway to walk. We took the car because of the strong winds and possibility of lingering rain bands. The wind was blowing 17 mph. It was a bit challenging to walk.
The water was churned up, lots of white caps.
The high tide and storm surge filled the parking lot.
The highest sustained wind to hit Dunedin was 40 mph, and the rain total was about 2.5 inches. I’d say we were pretty lucky.
The hurricane path above shows Elsa veering out in the gulf as it approached Dunedin (blue dot) and the Pinellas peninsula. That change of course saved us from some higher wind speeds, I suppose.
Lake Saundra looks full. No sign of Mr. Gator.
This was the calm before the storm. I took these around sunset Tuesday.
There was little sign of a hurricane in the sky at sunset. When we lost power at 10:15, I thought that was a bad sign. But an hour later, it came back on and stayed on.
Tonight’s dessert: our neighbors’ mango, cottage cheese, and blueberries.
John cooked the contents of our freezer in case the power was down for a few days. This is BBQ chicken and butter beans.
Today’s bike routes: Weaver Park and Victoria Condos
Miles walked: 8.1
Miles biked: 11.42

John’s dinner looks delicious. Yum. Enjoyed the Elsa comments. Glad we didn’t get hit any harder. 👏👏
