Sunday

Four bundles and ten bags of plants ready for pick up. The sawzall made quick work of the main trunk. The stump will have to wait for another day.

We’re working our way to the middle. The bird of paradise is next for me to thin. I read that it can be split into two plants in the early spring.

We went to look at plants at Ace and Home Depot, but didn’t see what we needed. The Garden Shop in Palm Harbor was closed today. John thinks he’ll have better luck there.

John filled the armadillo burrow and there’s been no sign of his return. No doubt, he’s moved on to his second home.

It was 89 degrees, mostly sunny and no rain today. This shady spot was just what we needed.

We got Chinese takeout for dinner: egg foo yung and vegetable lo mein.

Toby woke us up at 4:00 and then missed his morning nap while we were working in the yard. So he’s struggling this evening. We’ve walked him several times, fed him, practiced commands, played brain games, and he’s still in top gear. He’s in the crate now thinking it over. The picture above is from last night when he finally settled down. He doesn’t give up easily.

  1. Good job on the beds in front. I enlarged the bird of paradise and was amazed at its growth as you stated last night. Your work is really looking great. 👏👏

  2. Had a great visit with mom and dad. Got home in time for Pres Biden’s speech. Not so sure about what I hear from him and then others. Confused. Waterin my lawn tonight.

Jeff and Mike and I got home about the same time. Jeff rested and then drove Mike and Maggie to Lake Norman.
