Friday

We rode off on our bikes after lunch with no destination in mind. We rode by two houses in our neighborhood that just came on the market and went back to the open house at 4:00 for one of them.

In the meantime, we headed south to Main Street via the neighborhoods in the middle of Dunedin, paralleling CR 1. As we headed west on Main, John spotted this boutique that he has always wanted to check out. It’s across from Mease Life and Clear Sky.

This is a very cool place. They sell men’s and women’s clothes, jewelry, furniture, lighting, shoes, and even wine! It is a huge store with lots of unique things. Very artsy, as you can tell from the outside decor.

After our sunrise walk on the causeway this morning with Toby, we headed to Lowe’s to pick up our new hall lights. I had them installed before lunch. I did some camera tricks so you can see the fixture; they are so bright that you couldn’t see them, if I didn’t make some camera adjustments.

They were fairly easy to install, but there were the usual quirks.

They are smaller than the ones they replaced, so I got some ceiling spray paint to cover the unpainted ceiling with its little sparkles, like sugar crystals. This picture shows the true amount of light they put out.

You can’t see any evidence that there used to be a hideous fixture here. The center metal is brushed nickel, as is the band next to the ceiling.

For lunch, John pan seared a couple of tuna steaks.

And, of course, we had a fruit bowl. Peaches and raspberries are in season and I can’t resist either.

After we explored the boutique, we headed to downtown and picked up the Pinellas Trail and headed south to Stevenson Creek, pictured above looking east.

Looking west, you can almost see the new construction of a high rise condominium going up on Edgewater Drive. There are also new townhouses going up off Main on Highland Avenue.

We made a pit stop at the History Museum.

Many of the cross streets on the trail have a view of the water.

We took a shortcut home through Hammock and Highlander Parks to get to the open house.
