Class Valedictorian!
We enjoyed a beautiful sunrise walk on the causeway with Toby before going to his last training class and graduation.
We were both a bit on edge, but the beauty of the sunrise calmed us down.
To our surprise, Toby was the class valedictorian! The exit exam was to do 5 commands without treats, out in the store on a long, 15 foot leash: come, focus, sit, target, down. The finish line was 15 feet from the starting line, and the trainer timed all the dogs. They practiced once and then did it for time.
The all-time record for the trainer is 3.4 seconds. In this class, Toby came in first by 1/2 second with a score of 7.5 seconds!
As usual, John cracked up the trainer on our practice run. He was supposed to get Toby to sit at the starting line with the command “Sit.” But John gave him a full sentence command: “Come sit over here, baby boy.”
We rewarded Toby with some new toys that he loves.
He was so tired this afternoon he could hardly hold his head up.
This picture is John’s artist version. Nice, huh?
This brain game involves Toby rescuing the fox, raccoon, and skunk from the tree log.

It’s harder than it looks without a thumb, he says.
This brain game involves getting the three donuts out of the coffee mug.
He’s super fast with this one because who doesn’t like donuts? (The third one is in his mouth.)
Miles walked: 9
Miles biked: 0

We are soooo proud of Toby as well as you and John. All of you have really worked on the training and it paid off today. Loved your blog.
