We had a mixed up day today. On our Toby walk at 8:30 this morning, it was 79 degrees, but the humidity was 88%. There was zero breeze. It felt like a North Carolina summer day. We quickly realized that we couldn’t walk the causeway this morning.

Instead, we loaded up Toby and headed to Petsmart to work on Toby’s training. Our trainer has encouraged us to do this, but we’ve found other places nearby. But today, we needed the A/C.

We worked on his commands in the aisles of the store for about 45 minutes. Then we came home, put Toby in his crate for a nap and went for a long walk. By this time the humidity had dropped and the breeze picked up. We walked in the neighborhood, crossed Curlew Creek on the foot bridge near our house, walked to the corner of Bayshore and Curlew and picked up the Pinellas Trail and headed south to Palm Boulevard, then back home.

After lunch, I went to the outdoor gym at Weaver Park to exercise. When I got back, we took Toby for a walk in the car, but it started raining. 

The thing I like about Florida rain is that it won’t last long and if you’re impatient you can always drive for a mile and it will be sunny.

So we drove to the causeway where the rain had just ended and walked from bridge to bridge.

Toby enjoyed the variety and got to practice his commands some more.
