John copied this picture from K9 Adventures’ Facebook page from today. Toby was assigned to the puppy room again. Buster, on the left, is the large puppy he played with mostly today, according to the report we got when we picked him up. Toby looks like he’s having a good time. Buster looks like he’s ready to go to the big boys’ room: “please save me from the energetic hound!”
This is how sleepy he’s looked this afternoon.
He was able to perk up later and turn on the dryer. John was washing a load of clothes and all the sudden we heard the dryer start. Toby managed to push “power” and then “start.” He was trying to get to a cloth napkin on top and managed to hit the correct buttons in the correct sequence. Of course, in that bow tie, he looks ready to give a lecture on something even more complicated..
While Toby and John took a nap, I hopped on my bike and headed to the outdoor gym at Weaver Park. It sprinkled on the way home, but when I turned the corner on Palm Boulevard, it was sunny and beautiful again. That’s Florida weather for you—just a passing shower. You can see that the street is still wet.
It’s been a warm day: started off 70 degrees and got up to 81. We stayed in shorts and t-shirts all day.
My beautiful veggie fruit bowl for lunch: tangerines, broccoli, cauliflower, Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, olives, beets, blueberries, and cherries.
While Toby was in daycare, John and I walked the causeway and took note of the upcoming festival on Honeymoon Island. We are getting a better sense of what is normal this year. So many things were scrapped last year because of the pandemic.
I caught another dolphin surfacing. I heard him breathing before I saw him. He was directly under me on the tidal bridge when I first saw him.
John got his Moderna booster shot before lunch. He feels a little tired, but not too bad.
While I did my stretching exercises this morning, Toby was doing his. It takes him several minutes to get down from the sofa in the morning. No one likes to see coffee time and snuggle time come to an end.
Here’s John’s picture of the shark from yesterday, much clearer than mine.
Adele’s new album “30” was released today. A DJ said that it should be a world holiday so everyone can stay at home and listen to it all day, crying their eyes out in the privacy of their own home.
This album covers her divorce and healing, but it has a universal message that people make mistakes, especially when they are young and haven’t yet fully figured out who they are. In that case people make decisions to the best of their ability. Later, they sometimes find they must go in another direction, and it’s tough to lose and admit the mistakes and shortcomings, even harder to forgive themselves and avoid self-pity and despair. The key is to move forward with love. The review in The Times today was really good.
Today’s bike route to Weaver Park
Miles walked: 11.4
Miles biked: 6.57
Love the bow tie AND the dryer story. Amazing! Tooooo funny. I went to WS with JOAN and Jan today. Pam joined us for lunch and then to Salem Creek which was the reason JOAN planned this trip. Good to see her and share her with my friends.
ReplyDeleteToby is a genius because of his special training to get his food.
ReplyDeleteHad a fun time with mom and her friends today at lunch. They were so cute.
I played tennis this morning in 45 degree weather. It was cold but we warmed up. I just bought fleece lined leggings for winter tennis.
Jeff and watched the Adele concert Sunday night. She is beautiful and I love her voice.
“Fleece lined leggings,” oh, my.
ReplyDeleteGood for you playing in 45 degrees.
