There was a "dog whimpering" on the TV show that John was watching, as the closed captioning says on the screen. Toby was fascinated and got himself a front row perch.
Luckily, he gets to play with real dogs tomorrow at daycare. We've got him lined up for twice a week with a few exceptions, all the way through the middle of January. John was finally at ease enough for us to buy a package of visits. The package was for 20 visits with a $40 discount.
We took Toby on a sunrise walk around the neighborhood. You can see the moon just above the trees. It was 64 degrees.
After our sunrise walk, we drove to the causeway. By this time, it was 70 and we were in short sleeves. The jet ski parking was packed, as you can see in the photo above. The high for the day was 80 degrees. It misted a few times today, but we kept walking.
Toby got his dinner in his puzzles tonight in an effort to slow him down. He's still adjusting to the time change and the darkening skies. He's ready to eat by 4:00 p.m.
He didn't set any records, but it was fun watching him think through his puzzles. (We are easily entertained.)
I fixed him dessert (milk bone dog biscuit) and hid it inside two cereal boxes (propped in front of the chairs). He's waiting for the release word in the photo above.
"Okay." He's heading to it.
He made short work of the boxes. I've learned not to poke any holes in the boxes because that makes it too easy for him to rip them apart. I tape them shut with duck tape.
We've had a pretty good weekend. The weather has been nice for walking.
I spread 5 of the 6 bags of mulch. I put it in the beds that we worked on this summer to freshen them up. I hope to get to the last bag soon. Things move pretty quickly around here.
Oldsmar, at the top of Tampa Bay and probably 6 miles away, had a festival last night, which included fireworks at 8:00. They were very loud and disturbing to Toby. Dogs were barking. Neighbors were texting each other trying to figure out what was going on. Finally, someone found the announcement for the Oldsmar festival to put all the humans at ease.
We had Con Sabor takeout tonight from that Mexican restaurant next to Julian's Little Italy. It's less Americanized than Juan's Mexican Grill. I like the complexity of the flavors and the different textures. They make their own chips.
John finally gets some snuggle time with Toby!
Miles walked: 12.7
Miles biked: 0
I envy the snuggle times ya’ll have with Toby. It was 28 when we first awaken. Brrrrrrr High was 57. We went in to GS for worship and SS. This afternoon we put up the Christmas tree. It is almost finished. I haven’t decided on the topper yet. Tomorrow I have a cardiac appointment. Hope I can get released. Plan to get the car washed while in that vicinity. Count down to Thanksgiving at Pam’s.
