Some days you should just lock the doors and stay inside. The facial expression says it all.
First, the temperature this morning was in the mid 40s and only warmed to the upper 50s. We were freezing all day. I had to find long pants to wear!
Second, we took Toby to daycare this morning and when we got there we realized that we forgot his harness, so we had to drive home in morning rush hour traffic to pick it up and then drive all the way back.
Third, instead of leaving Toby to nap while we walked, we stayed home and watched “The Girls of Ipanema” on Netflix. We thought Toby would get some rest before puppy training. He didn’t. We got to training on time, but Toby was terrible. John and I both had flashbacks to 7th grade PE classes where the minutes felt like hours. The three dogs taking advanced classes for the first time were all having a bad day, fortunately: barking, squirming, not paying attention, so it wasn’t just us. He rose to the occasion when it was his time to perform, but he was restless and rude otherwise. Our trainer said to cancel his future Monday daycare so he won’t be so tired for class.

Progress on the turtle egg.
We’re going to watch some more “The Girls of Ipanema” and call it a day. The series is about women in Brazil in the 50s/60s finding their voice and independence from men. It’s also about racism and how art and music (particularly jazz and bossa nova) help to break boundaries around gender, class, and race.
