I raked leaves at 7:00 this morning getting ready for the mowers to come. Then we rode our bikes out to the causeway to walk. The temperature was 77 degrees, but the wind was strong enough to make it doable. And the clouds kept it from being uncomfortable. We made a stop at Publix on the way home to pick up some fresh fruit and OJ. The picture above was taken from the drawbridge, showing how clear the water was today in the sound.
Our favorite bicycle rack on the causeway.
Lots of clouds today.

After lunch, we headed to my doctor's office (across from the bowling alley) to pick up my next blood drawing order (June 8). We went in the golf cart and took Toby. We stopped at Hammock Park to let Toby walk around since he was being a bit fidgety. We passed a dog who went crazy when we walked by. Toby just kept walking. I was very proud. The trail was narrow and there was nowhere to go. The owner was on the phone and not attentive to his dog at all (or us).
We took the scenic route through Highlander Park.
After we got home, we rode the golf cart to Stirling Park and then headed to Walgreen's on foot to pick up my prescription. First dose begins tomorrow morning on an empty stomach with a glass of water, 30 minutes before coffee.
The tidal ditch along the Pinellas Trail was full of minnows.

We paused at the Curlew Creek bridge to watch a couple of manatees swim under the bridge.
On our way to pick up Thai Basil Chicken from our favorite Chinese restaurant.
After dinner, we headed to Weaver Park for the Friday Night Concert Series. Tonight was reggae music on the water. In the photo above, we paused at Lake Paloma on the way.
We knew the crowds would be heavy around Weaver Park and parking scarce, so we found this little parking lot a block or so away. It's parking for the Pinellas Trail, just beyond the American Legion Post.

The sunset and people
We sat on a bench at the outdoor gym and enjoyed the music until Toby got antsy. Then we walked downtown.
When we got to Salty Paws, John gave in and got Toby some doggie ice cream.
He thoroughly enjoyed it.
Toby went back for more ice cream, but we had to move on.
We saw this happy dog in a sack go by.
View of the water from the trail.
It has been a full day. We feel so lucky to be here and enjoy all the things going on. Time for a shower for me and Toby.
