Sunday

John rode his bike to walk on the causeway this morning while I stayed at home and worked on the dishwasher.

There was a running event on the causeway, so all cars were blocked for a couple of hours.

John got these shots of the raccoon squirrel. John said he made squeaking noises and the squirrel started to come at him, without fear. John hopped on his bike and rode away.

They are so cute!

Meanwhile, I dragged almost all my tools one by one, it seems, into the house.

I took apart the filters and removed the food waste chopper (bottom piece) that was broken and stuck in gunk.

I also found this sliver of glass in with the food chopper.

Food chopper cover.

I cleaned all the gunk out. Next, I need to find a new food chopper and reassemble and see if that will fix our problem.

The Home Depot guy laughed at me. He said, “We sell dishwashers, but not that,” as he looked at my broken part.

So I went online and found it immediately, under $10, and it will be delivered tomorrow.

If that doesn’t work, I may be out of solutions. We heard the pump making noise, so we’re hoping this will work.

I took a moment to photograph these flowers.

All of these flowers are no maintenance perennials.

I took a break from dishwasher repair to ride my bike to the gym and exercise. It was 93 degrees today and felt like 100, according to the weather app. There was even an 11 mph breeze, but it was still hot.

Then John and I took Toby for a walk on the golf cart to Highlander Park. From there, we went to Ace Hardware for a torx screw driver to remove one screw. My one torx screw driver was perfect for the other screws, but not the last one, of course. Toby did great at Ace and he got a treat at checkout.

John rode his bike to Publix to get us a turkey Pub Sub for dinner, while I was at Home Depot.

Miles walked: 5.5
Miles biked: 5.61
