After our morning Toby walk, John went to the causeway to walk while I stayed home to do sprinkler maintenance. Also, I needed to recover from a slight case of heat exhaustion yesterday--too much exercise and not enough water. It's so easy to get behind on water intake. It's also important to relax towards the end of the day. Our bike ride Thursday night to get take out was a bit too fast and too hot, and left little time to recoup before bedtime. I was groggy all day with a dull headache yesterday.
These are John's pictures from his walk.
We had lots of cloud cover this morning. We even walked in a gentle mist on Toby’s walk.
I was able to adjust 4 sprinklers that were either going too far left or right or sending out water further than necessary. They have been bothering me for a long time, but I never took the time to adjust them. One was hitting the house which is a big no no. So I watched a number of videos and set out to get it done. We have three different brands, each with its own quirks. All the techniques from the videos got jumbled in my head, so I just experimented until I got them to do what I wanted.
There were also sprinklers that were being blocked from overgrowth, so I did some pruning around those. Then I ran the sprinklers to test them. So far, so good. That should eliminate our two brown spots that weren’t getting coverage.
This ibis helped keep me company while I worked on the sprinklers.
Toby and John took a nap after lunch.
After lunch, the skies started to clear up.
There was still plenty of cloud cover in some directions.
Toby and John had a hard time getting out of bed this morning.
We stayed up too late the night before. I like this picture because you can see Dexter and Dee Dee in the background. I love all my dogs.
We're going to pick up some yellow split peas and make our Eggplant Paradise recipe that we got from a neighbor in Solterra. We haven't fixed this in forever.
For dinner tonight, John fixed spaghetti.
