Monday

John took this picture on our afternoon bike ride to Hammock Park. His pictures always turn out so well. The National Audubon Society would approve.

We rode our bikes to the causeway to walk this morning, even though it was in the low 80s with little breeze. We planned to have lunch at Cricketers, so that gave us incentive to power through.

This motorcycle had three rear wheels to go along with the front wheel. I’ve never seen that before.

We had lots of cloud cover on the way back. It was a beautiful morning.

While we were crossing the drawbridge, we saw this group of 6 stingrays. They were so graceful.

You can see their stinger tail in the picture.

John took this beautiful shot.

We got to the British pub just as the QE2 funeral was being held.

We got the special: pasta primavera. John got blackened chicken and I got blackened shrimp. They were both delicious. Rich.

We thought it odd that the TV was mounted above the Halloween decorations, especially with the funeral going on. All these dead hands reaching up from a coffin to the casket on the screen. A bit surreal.

Our lunch was an interesting and authentic British experience, except for the hands.

A toothy smile. Who knew?

Flowers blooming in our back yard

This afternoon we went for a neighborhood bike ride to Hammock Park.

Another one of John’s pictures

We took the Pinellas Trail back home.

That blue water is a bit unnatural.

We had a brief rain shower at the end of the day. Lots of thunder. This is definitely the rainy season.

We ate in for dinner.

Today’s bike routes to the causeway and Hammock park

Miles walked: 10.4
Miles biked: 10.17

  1. Yes John’s photos are great. Can’t believe the amount of rain you are having. No wonder your flowers are so lush. Is Toby OK? Mised his funny stories. How is Toby’s rash?
