Saturday

We began our hurricane preparations this afternoon by going to the local pet store to get Toby some pet food since we are close to running out. While we were there, John got Toby a little stuffed toy dog to play with. We also filled the car up with gas.

Watch!

Get in your bed!

Wait!

OK!

Before the pet store run, we went to Highlander Park in Toby's go cart for a walk. The temperature today was in the mid 80s with a robust breeze, making for very pleasant walks all day.

This morning it was 79 degrees with a 10 mph breeze on our causeway walk. There were lots of boats, jet skis, kayaks, sailboats, and walkers out and about.

We ate in for lunch and dinner.

I need to pick as many avocados as I can over the next few days so that they don't become missiles in the event the hurricane heads this way.

Toby's ear medicine appears to be calming whatever was bothering him. We use the syringe to inject the medicine in his ears. We do it outside before his morning walk. I kneel and hold his head against my body while I feed him treats. John injects his ears. Then we message his ears to work it into his ear canals. Toby has been a good patient. He's much calmer around us at home than around strangers at the vet's office.

Miles walked: 11.5
Miles biked: 5.25

  1. Glad you got administering Toby’s medicine down to a fine science. 👏 Also glad he is improving. Keep us up to date on the brewing storm. 🤞🙏
