Wednesday

Another beautiful day in Dunedin. The temperature was 70 degrees when we rode our bikes to the causeway for our morning walk, after walking Toby, of course, in the neighborhood.

I know it sounds crazy to say that 70 degrees can be cold, but on a bike it can be. We wore long sleeves and rushed to get to the sun.

The high temperature today was 79, not much humidity and not many clouds.

After lunch, I rode south on the Pinellas Trail to Stevenson Creek.

The trail was not very busy today. I did pass the Dunedin band playing near Alfresco's and Salty Paws. They sit in a circle on folding chairs under the big oak tree and play for folks passing on the trail.

I stopped at Weaver Park on the way home to stretch and do some light weight lifting. My shoulder continues to hold up. Next week, I may attempt a pull-up.

I had the place to myself most of the time. I try to exercise at home, but I can never stay focused--to many other things to do. But here, I can focus. I always feel so much better afterwards.

We took Toby in his go cart to Stirling Park to walk this afternoon.

The ponds in the park are filled back after this summer's dry spell.

Just as we loaded up after our walk, a fire truck from fire station 61 (Highlander Park) screamed by on Bayshore. John covered up Toby's ears. When Toby was a puppy, the morning sirens would send him running in a panic for home. He's gotten used to them.

John is still working on it.

Toby is very reassuring.

Where did it go?

John made spaghetti for dinner. I read an article today that said the best time to eat dinner is 5:00, which made John very happy. At that time, your body has time to digest before lying down to sleep. Plus, your body is less likely to store calories or retain salts if you eat at that time as opposed to later. A late dinner will more likely lead to weight gain, acid reflux, and getting up to pee at night.

Today’s bike routes to the causeway, Publix, and Stevenson Creek

Miles walked: 10
Miles biked: 16.52

  1. We like to eat early but it is usually 6:00. We had a great day today organized by Pam. Jeff’s boat is very pretty. Dad, Pam and I leave Friday. Jeff is staying and friends are coming for a sail. Pam has another nice day planned for tomorrow in Oriental. This has been a great visit.
