This tree is one of the prettiest we’ve seen. The owner is a superb athlete, holding several records for kayaking the Mississippi River. Recently, he came in 3rd for a paddle boarding competition in Sarasota. He stayed standing on his board for 42 hours in Sarasota Bay. People from around the world showed up to compete. An Italian in his 20s won first place. The owner climbs this tree every year to string and unstring these lights. He’s made of stronger stuff than the two of us combined.
He’s also a sweetheart. He stayed up all night a year or so ago looking for his little girl’s lost cat. He drove around handing out fliers and even set up social media accounts so he could get the word out about the lost kitty. The cat was found and retrieved the next day because of his efforts. His little girl was so happy.
Last walk of the day under pretty skies and 64 degrees. The high today was 67.
John’s putting on his socks for our last walk.
On our way to Madison Avenue Pizza to get our dinner. We’ve been doing smoothies and chicken salad sandwiches for about two weeks.
So, so good to have hot food.
An early evening walk. Toby’s skin is looking much better. We haven’t had to wipe him down or bathe him in days. I think the cooler weather is helping.
I rode my bike to the outdoor gym at Weaver Park after lunch. It was a bit cool on my bike ride, but once I got to the gym, I ditched my windbreaker and long sleeves.
I had a good workout. I’m finally beginning to meet the regulars at the gym. I’ve been practicing making small talk (not my forte). It takes a while to separate the locals from the tourists, and many folks working out have ear buds or headphones which is not conducive for conversation.
Mas Fina came today after skipping last week. The yard hardly needed it, but I’m happy it’s done.
Miles walked: 6.5
Miles biked: 5.78

I see a Christmas tree on the porch. Love your furniture.
ReplyDeleteLove the story about your neighbor.
We are at Mikes until Sunday. Jeff and Julie have decided to move him to memory care after Christmas. We had a telephone conversation today with the manager at Salemtown in WS. He did not know the year, the day, the town he lives in. Said his name was Philip. Could not draw a clock, could not come up with a name that starts with The Letter F. So very sad for Jeff to witness.
Sad news about Mike. Thanks for sharing your plans for Mike. Dementia is a long good by. I know this is hard. Thanks for sharing Pam. Super Club was at Janet’s tonight. Lots of good food. Enjoyed your blog tonight Perry. We have some COLD weather predicted. Thankful for a warm house. Love you all.
