Friday

On our early Toby walk at 8:00 this morning it was 65 degrees with a light breeze. It felt like the beginning of a beautiful day. By the time we got home and put on spf to walk the causeway, the weather had swiftly turned. First, the breeze picked up, then the rain came, and finally the temperature dropped. We did an abrupt turn in the garage. No causeway walk today.

The photos above and below are from our after lunch walk. The sun came out, the temperature stabilized at 58, but the breeze was blowing at 18 mph. We all bundled up.

We got spaghetti to go from Julian’s Little Italy for lunch. The portions were large enough for two meals.

The art work above was dedicated this week at the new City Hall. It’s a stainless steel drop of water that reflects whoever looks at it, thus the title “The See.” This public art coordinates well with the wave design of the building. We will get our own pictures of it soon.

Toby’s new bed arrived this afternoon, and he had to check it out. This is his second one; we liked the first one so much, we decided to get another one to keep from having to move it around. It’s really a brilliant idea. I wished we had known about these for Dexter and Dee Dee.

These raised dog beds are so much better than the ones on the floor, and much cheaper, too.

We throw an inexpensive pad on top for cushion and warmth.

The sun and blue sky are deceptive.

Last walk of the day. It’s better than the single digits in NC, but 52 degrees with 18 mph wind makes for a cold walk. The low tonight will be 33 degrees. I brought in the fern and potted plants.

The neighborhood golf cart parade is tonight. We’re going to pass. We’ll enjoy it from inside looking out the windows!
