I rode my bike out to Honeymoon Island after lunch today. It was 80 degrees and partly cloudy with a moderate breeze.
The Bluegrass festival was going on, attracting a larger crowd to the park than normal.
The parking lots were mostly full at the northern end near the stage.
I turned away from the crowds, naturally, and headed to the water.
I walked a short distance and headed back home.
I got caught by the drawbridge because of this catamaran sailboat towing another boat.
These three kayakers were having a meeting, it seemed.
For lunch, I managed to make us a smoothie the same color as our countertops. I didn’t think that was possible.
We rode our bikes out to the causeway to walk this morning. The crab pot marker was doing its job.
It was an easy walk with temperatures in the mid 60s.
We crossed the causeway to help a city worker load a sleeper sofa onto a trailer. How or why a sleeper sofa ends up along the edge of the water is unclear. The worker said it was completely unfolded when he found it, mattress and all. A water view, one night only!
On the way home, we stopped for an open house on Fairway Drive. The house overlooks Lake Saundra.
It’s an unusual design with tiered ceilings including a loft overlooking the water. Lots of open space below.
Even the loft had cathedral ceilings. They’re asking $850,000, but it looks like there is a lot of work needed, like the kitchen, bathrooms, floors, and finishing work with drywall and wood trim.
Today’s routes to the causeway and later to Honeymoon Island
Miles walked: 11.1
Miles biked: 16.76

A nice day here after the rain stopped. Glad to hear the nice weather you are having. Enjoy. More later. Nite nite.
