We took Toby on a late afternoon go cart ride to Highlander Park to walk.
The temperature got up to 81 degrees, so we were looking for some shade. We walked around the entire block, about 2.5 miles. We have stepped up our at home training of Toby. It’s so easy to get lazy because he’s pretty good at home.
John had his annual physical this morning so we skipped our usual morning walk on the causeway. His doctor recommended an Apple Watch for monitoring his heart instead of wearing a heart monitor for 48 hours. She showed him hers and how it calculates all sorts of heart information 24/7, and even sends alerts if it detects an issue. Everything else checked out fine.
We stuck around the house until lunch; then we ran errands on the golf cart with Toby. First we went to the golf cart office to renew our license. We used our printer/scanner to assemble all the necessary documents: drivers license, bill of sale, proof of insurance. With a $10 fee, we got our 2023 sticker in under two minutes.
Next, we headed to Ace Hardware where Toby is welcome in the store. We looked at house plants, but John couldn’t find what he wanted. Then we roamed the aisles. I got touch up paint for inside the house, a new plug for an old lamp, A/C filters, and paper bags for excess yard waste. Toby got a huge treat at the checkout, which made him very happy.
I rode home in the back holding onto all our loot.
We’ve learned all the back streets to get to Ace.
The crossing guard for the elementary school asked if she could come over and give Toby a treat. So nice.
I then headed to the gym on my bike to exercise. It wasn’t too crowded. My new friend who used to teach philosophy but now works in cybersecurity, was there. He told me about his gruesome bike accident eight months ago. He no longer rides in the street if he can avoid it.
The safest place to ride is on a Pinellas Trail.
Miles walked: 6.3
Miles biked: 5.77

That is why I love the trail. So safe. We had a warmer day today but no where near 80. We came home from working at LKN today and I took my friend Courtney to a Dr’s appointment (a 2 1/2 hour trip). Went to the gym. Mike and Jeff were at the house. Jeff had fixed a pizza which I appreciated. Reading a new book “the book of Longings” about the wife of Jesus. A beautiful story.
ReplyDeleteThis is my fav part so far. “ Lord
our God hear my prayer, the prayer of my heart. Bless the largeness inside me, no matter how I fear it. Bless my reed pens and my inks. Bless the words that I write. May they be beautiful in your sight. May they be visible to eyes not yet born. When I am dust, sing these words over my bones: she was a voice.
Thanks for your sharing Pam. Glad Jeff can spend time with Mike outside of his new home. So sweet. Dad and I went to a senior’s movie, popcorn, pizza at GS today. All free. πΏπ¬π½️π️This church really keeps planned activity for seniors scheduled. As Pam stated, we had a pretty day for a change. ππ for John’s good physical report. Those mentioned watches track so many things. I think John would enjoy the possibilities. Love to all.
