The weather was warm enough this morning for a bike ride to the causeway and a walk. Temperatures were in the 60s. The Sound was calm, great day to be out on the water.
There was almost zero breeze, so we got the most out of the full sun.

After our veggie and fruit smoothie followed by a PB&J, I rode my bike to the outdoor gym at Weaver Park to exercise. The sun warmed things up to 71 degrees.
Afterwards, I rode downtown.
The city is repairing concrete curbing in our neighborhood. Their focus is on curbing and street defects that prevent rain water from draining, as in the section above across from the end of our driveway. The white markings indicate what they plan to replace. They’ve already started digging at the other end of Watrous. I’m surprised that this work is being done, not because it doesn’t need it—it does—but because I think it would be a low priority for most cities.
We had pretty skies today.

After three months of social security, I got a raise! Much better than the “fixed income” when I worked at Durham Tech; we hardly ever got raises. I hope the Republicans are not successful in their goal to cut Social Security. They will surely be trying, even risking a debt default and world-wide economic disaster to get their way next August when it comes time to increase the debt ceiling.

ReplyDeleteGlad you had a great day. Our weather was so much better today. I got to work upstairs today, need more time to complete the task but at least I’ve started. Today marks my 10th day since first Covid symptoms so I plan to mask up and go to the grocery store tomorrow. Will try to get on my 8:00 zoom exercise class in the morning. Enjoyed your blog.
